After literally a year I finally got my Colombian cedula. I could have probably gotten it a couple months ago but we were just to lazy to get it, plus it’s not like I can do anything with it here so I wasn’t in much of a rush to get it. Only reason i wanted it was because I wanted to see how it would look haha but I’m pretty glad I was finally able to get it even thought I...
White coworker: You're really good at this job but I gotta admit it still bothers me when people like you come to this country & take jobs from real Americans.
Me: Where do you think I'm from?
Coworker: I don't know what you are, but I know you're something. What are you?
Me: Native American.
Coworker: Oh... then I guess you didn't come here, huh?

OMG you guys are not going to believe what happened to me today. OK so I have a little Vera Bradley id wallet thingy and in it i had my bus fare card, my college id, my WORK PERMIT CARD, and a couple dollars and today without noticing I accidentally left it on the bus as I got off. I went most of the day without noticing until I went to put my phone in the pocket that I normally but the wallet in...

Guys. We need to talk. And we realize that, you being you and us being us, we might be preaching to the choir a little here, but hopefully, with a little internet magic, we can spread this message faster than a video of baby sloth handing a woman a flower.
And that message is this: Colombia, the country, is spelled like...

Social came in the mail today :) now all I have to do is wait until my birthday so I can go to the DMV to get my license which is in about a month and a half. I’m not sure if I’ll go back to the restaurant I was working at now that I have a real social due to the fact that I want to focus on my school work but on the other hand I really want to be making some type of money to save and...

Yesterday
I went to the Social Security office to finally apply for my social and it was super simple. When we got there I didn’t expected it to be so full, I waited about 30 minutes until I was called to the window and then I showed the lady my papers and it took her about 5 minutes to put me in the system and finish. It was weird leaving tho, I don’t know why but right when I sat back in the...

Illegal being turned into a noun is by far the most ruthlessly effective way to dehumanize and demonize an entire group of people, which is why it is propagated by mass media and politicians to vilify these people as outsiders and aggressors of the state to justify the systematic abuse and exploitation these people are faced with on a daily basis.

My work permit finally came in the mail today! :D
I’m so happy now all I have to do is go to a social security office to apply for a SSN which i plan on doing some time this upcoming week. As soon as it comes in I want to go to the DMV and get a state ID since I can’t get my license until I turn 19 which will be late this March. I ‘m so excited for everything that is coming...
23 DEEP ASS Questions.
1. What is more difficult for you, looking into someones eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someones eyes when they are telling you how they feel?
2. Think of the last time you were REALLY angry. WHY were you angry? Do you still feel the same way?
3. You are on a flight from Honolulu to Chicago non-stop. There is a fire in the back of the plane. You have enough time to make ONE phone call. Who do you call? What do you tell them?
4. You are at the doctor’s office and he has just informed you that you have approximately one month to live. Do you tell anyone/everyone you are going to die? What do you do with your remaining days? Would you be afraid?
5. You can have one of the following two things. Which do you choose? Why? Love and Trust.
6. You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late even once more, you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dogs life? Why or Why not?
7. Would you rather be hurt by the one you trust the most or the one you love the most?
8. Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship. He/she is falling in love with you. What do you (or did you) do/say?
9. Think of the last person who you know that died. You have the chance to give them 1 hour of life back, but you have to give up one year of yours. Do you do it? Why or Why not?
10. Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend?
11. Does love = sex?
12.Your boss tells your coworker that they have to let them go because of work shortage, and they are the newest employee. You have been there much longer. Your coworker has a family to support and no other means of income. Do you go to your boss and offer to leave the company? Why or Why not?
13.When was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt regardless of how difficult it was for you to say? Who was it? What did you have to tell the person?
14. What would be (or what was) harder for you to tell a member of the opposite/same sex, you love them or that you do not love them back?
15. What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up? Why would it be hard to lose?
16. Excluding romantic love, when was the last time you told someone you loved them. Who were they to you?
17. If there was one moment and one time in the last month what would you change and why?
18. Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying? Why or Why not?
19.You are holding onto your grandmother’s hand and the hand of a newborn that you do not know as they hang over the edge of a cliff. You have to let one go to save the other. Who do you let fall to their death? What was your rationale for making the decision?
20. Are you old fashioned?
21. When was the last time you were nice to someone and did NOT expect anything in return for it?
22.Which would you choose, true love with a guarantee of a broken heart, or never loved at all? Why?
23.If you could do anything or wish anything, what would it be?

FINALLY!!!
This morning I decided to check my DACA application online and I finally saw that I have been approved! Of course it would get approved on the day I didn’t check it, which was yesterday. When I checked it today I really wasn’t even expecting it to have been approved just because every other time I checked it it was always at initial review. So now I have to wait until I get the...

I love all the support I get on here from you guys, I know you guys don’t know who I am but in all honesty you guys know me more than some of the people I know in real life because I actually tell you guys about my issues and problems. I know I haven’t been posting as much as I used to a couple months ago but I plan on posting more often, even if it’s just little things. I also...
pollymoon asked: If I were you, I'd sign up for email updating on the USCIS website and forget about checking every day. Checking everyday just gives you anxiety. Be patient because although it's been a long time, the deadline for getting approved is set at 6 months. I read in a forum I visit people that took 5 months to get approved. Just hang in there, the day you least expect it, you'll get it....
ernestineee asked: Hey, I know the feeling. My application was received September 17th, biometrics on October 24th and still nothing. It's so hard wanting to move forward with life but not having a license or work permit is a major setback. Hopefully things happen soon. Stay strong. :)

USCIS received my DACA application back in September 14th, 2012. I had my fingerprint appointment on October 16th, 2012 and it is now January 13th, 2013 and I still have yet to get my work permit. I don’t understand why it is taking so long, I should have gotten it by now and it’s starting to get really irritating that it is taking so long. I’m really hoping that I have...

Illinois House Approves Licenses For Undocumented... →
The Illinois House on Tuesday approved legislation allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain temporary driver’s licenses.
The bill was OK’d by a vote of 65-46 and now heads to Gov. Pat Quinn’s desk for approval.
Under the plan, drivers would get three-year licenses, called Temporary Visitor Driver’s Licenses, and would be required to take a driver’s education class and carry car insurance....
